How it's Made

Brandon Hnedak (knee-dak) has personally designed this signature watch from the ground up. It is called the EDGE, due to its asymmetric shape.

This watch is limited to only 200 pieces, and each signature watch is individually numbered. What makes these rare timepieces even more unique is their remarkable shape.

*
Each custom designed watch goes through a lengthy 2 month creation process. Every timepiece is carefully crafted and individually cut down by a special C.N.C. machine ensuring design specifications meet with our incredibly high standards.

STEP 1

All our collector's items start out as a solid block of steel. The 316L Stainless Steel block is then trimmed and shaven down into 'half-moon' blank.
*

STEP 2

Next, the CNC machine uses a drill to slowly trim away at the steel blank. Its arm starts by rounding out the inside of the dial. Once the inside is cut, the timepiece is then flipped over. On the backside, a rounding of the bottom half starts to form. When finished, the arm cuts out the section designed for the integrated watch band.

STEP 3

Our timepiece now proceeds through a "tumbling stage" with plastic and ceramic beads. After a long tumble, the watch has been smoothed and is now ready to be plated. The silver version is plated in 90% silver color (silver plating only) and 10% nickel.
*
*
The gold is plated in 14k Yellow Gold. For the rose gold, it is plated in 70% 14k yellow gold and 30% copper. The copper combined with yellow gold creates the attractive rose tone color.
*

STEP 4

After Plating is finalized our timepiece is sent for assembly. The first part of assemble is the watch dial. Once the face is anchored in place a copper gasket is added to watch crystal. This copper seal forms a protective barrier to keep out water and dust.

Below are factory images of the Edge watch. Included is platting, face, and watch crystal. Our heat treated crystal is rated 7.5 on the moh scale. (By comparison a Sapphire Crystal is rated 9 moh.)

Next is the second layer of the watch dial, the movement, the watch hands, the case-back and watch band. The watch band is made from soft yet strong calf leather. It is entirely custom made. It is machine stitched, and then lined up by hand. The stitching is done for appearance and adds a significant amount of durability.
*
Later on in the process the movement, crown and case back are added. For the movement we chose a Miyota Quartz caliber. It is a Super GL15 with a 5 year battery, there is no second hand and the date is featured at 6 o'clock. Reliable, durable and known to last.

STEP 5

Our timepiece is now completely constructed and ready for shipping. Below are pictures from our factory floor. All 200 of our exquisite signature watches were produced during the months of May and June of 2017.

*

Every timepiece is individually numbered and comes in its' own rectangle carrying case with instructions for use and a warranty. Our carrying cases are a smooth satin white color, the designers name is signed on the back of each case and is the perfect length to conceal our signature watch!
